About NACC
NACC advances children’s and parents’ rights by supporting a diverse, inclusive community of child welfare lawyers to provide zealous legal representation and by advocating for equitable, anti-racist solutions co-designed by people with lived experience. We provide training and resources to practitioners, advocate for policies that advance children’s rights, and support a community of hard-working and dedicated child welfare/juvenile attorneys. NACC is excited to expand its State Coordinator program.
Role & Responsibilities
State Coordinators help lead outreach efforts and provide localized support to growing networks of practitioners in their respective states. Their role is a key component of NACC’s strategic plan.
- To serve a two-year term, renewable for one additional term, upon NACC invitation and mutual agreement
- To spend an average of 5 hours per month on NACC State Coordinator Activities
- To act as a liaison between NACC and child welfare practitioners, courts, organizations, and law schools
- To help grow the community of NACC members and Child Welfare Law Specialists, promoting NACC membership and programs, and reviewing state membership data
- To send quarterly emails to legal professionals and support state listservs – must be able to send emails outside one’s own office, to children’s, parents’, agency attorneys, etc.
- To submit quarterly reports describing state practice concerns and policy developments;
- To participate in quarterly virtual meetings with other State Coordinators and NACC staff
- To attend NACC’s National Conference (onsite or online; State Coordinators are responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses, NACC provides registration scholarships upon completion of term of service).
NACC will provide the following during your period of service:
- NACC Conference Scholarship for State Coordinators who submit 3 quarterly reports and send out 3 NACC program emails from October to June
- Complimentary Gold NACC membership (does not apply to CWLS, will provide Red Book);
- Email listserv platform and cloud sharing support
- Social Media Toolkit
