NACC provides consulting services to the Capacity Building Center for the Courts (CBCC). NACC supports training to attorneys and judges, provides substantive expertise and guidance to state court improvement programs, and collaborates with the CBCC on its capacity-building efforts.

CASEY FAMILY Programs: Judicial and National Engagement and National Partnerships

NACC provides consulting services to Casey Family Programs initiatives to transform legal representation for children and parents and build a national network committed to a 21st Century Child Welfare System.  This partnership also supports engagement with lived experience experts on NACC’s National Advisory Council on Children’s Legal Representation.

Cross Sector Advocates Group

NACC facilitates a monthly meeting of policy advocates and attorneys working in the child welfare, youth justice, and homeless youth sectors.  Addressing hot topics in federal and state policy, this peer-to-peer network helps align and amplify advocacy priorities and messaging strategies.

Statewide Assessments

NACC conducts statewide assessments evaluating access to counsel and quality of legal representation.  Statewide assessments provide comprehensive examinations of state and local legal service delivery systems and practice issues; analyze state laws, rules, and policies; and include data collection, stakeholder and practitioner interviews, and court observation.

Every Kid Needs a Family

The purpose of the Every Kid Needs a Family site is to provide information and advocacy tools to assist judges, attorneys, and advocates in making decisions regarding the placement of children that reflect the least-restrictive, most family-like setting possible for each child under court jurisdiction.

Family Justice Initiative

The Family Justice Initiative is a national collaborative of children’s attorneys, parents’ attorneys, educators, researchers, national policy advocates, and lived experience experts who share a common goal: to increase access to high-quality legal representation for children and parents in child welfare cases
