Help Shape the Future of Justice for Children and Families

NACC seeks visionary leaders, advocates, professionals, and individuals with lived experience to serve on its Board of Directors.

At a time when children’s rights, family well-being, and access to justice face unprecedented challenges and opportunities, NACC is looking for leaders who want to help drive meaningful national change.

As a board member, you will help guide a premier national organization dedicated to advancing high-quality legal representation for children, parents, and families involved in child welfare and juvenile court systems. Together, we are working toward a future where every child has a voice, every family is treated with dignity, and every legal proceeding affecting children, parents, and families is fair, equitable, and informed.

Applications accepted through July 30, 2026.

About NACC

For nearly 50 years, the National Association of Counsel for Children has been a leading voice for justice in the child welfare system.

NACC strengthens the quality of legal representation, builds a national community of advocates, and advances reforms that improve outcomes for children and families. Through training, certification, policy advocacy, strategic partnerships, and support for legal professionals nationwide, NACC influences the lives of hundreds of thousands of children, parents, and kin each year. See NACC’s 2025-2030 Strategic Plan.

NACC is seeking board members who can help strengthen the organization’s financial sustainability and philanthropic growth. If you have experience raising resources, cultivating relationships, managing finances, or opening doors to new opportunities, your leadership can directly expand access to justice for children and families nationwide.

Who We Need at This Moment

As NACC approaches its 50th anniversary, we are entering a period of significant opportunity to accelerate much needed reforms in practice and policy. To help expand our impact, strengthen our long-term sustainability, and advance access to justice nationwide, we are seeking board members who can bring strategic leadership, financial stewardship, and fundraising expertise to our organization.

Board service is a four (4) year renewable term (3 term limit).  All board members are expected to travel to board meetings, and give their time, talent, and treasure to the organization.  All board members serve on two committees or workgroups, which meet virtually. Currently, NACC’s Board meets in person once a year in person, and the remaining meetings are virtual.
