Cadon Sagendorf

Cadon Sagendorf is currently a student at the University of Utah pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology and aspires to become a Child & Adolescent Neuropsychiatrist. His work focuses on the intersectionality of child welfare, mental health, and law, utilizing academic research and public policy to drive systemic change. His academic interests lie in neurobiology and neurophysiology and examining how these systems influence emotional, mental, and physical health. Through his research, he seeks to understand the mechanisms that shape human behavior, resilience, and recovery and aims to develop innovative approaches to holistic psychological and physical health.

Cadon’s professional background spans roles in state and federal government and nonprofit sectors. He has experience supporting legislative initiatives, improving child welfare systems, and contributing to reform efforts. He serves on national and statewide advisory councils and committees providing insight and experience into developing evidence-based practices to improve the child welfare system. Cadon’s advocacy has led him to speak at the United States Capitol, The White House, and receive state and national recognition from the Governor and the United States Congress. Besides Cadon’s educational and professional experience, he has a passion for music through the expression of singing, songwriting and playing the violin.
