SUMMARY:Online Child Welfare Law Red Book Training Course - Spring 2025
DESCRIPTION:Wednesdays\, 3:00 – 4:30pm MT. \nThe Red Book Training Course is an exciting opportunity for practitioners to brush up on their knowledge of federal child welfare law and learn tips to enhance their representation of children\, parents\, or the agency. NACC’s signature Red Book Training Course covers major dependency practice competency areas and is designed to assist you in preparing for the Child Welfare Law Specialist examination. \nThe 2025 course will include material based on the Fourth Edition of Child Welfare Law and Practice: Representing Children\, Parents\, and Agencies in Neglect\, Abuse\, and Dependency Cases. During weekly webinars\, the presenter will assist participants in breaking the material down\, focusing on important concepts\, and learning CWLS exam-taking strategies. View the course syllabus. \nThis course will not cover every part of every chapter. The instructor has made intentional decisions about what information to cover in the time that is allotted for the course. If part of a chapter is not covered\, that does not mean that content will not appear on the exam. Therefore\, you should incorporate any parts that are not covered into your self-study plans.  \nThe registration fee is $225 per person for groups and NACC members ($125 for CWLS; $300 for nonmembers) and includes access to live sessions\, recordings\, the electronic Red Book\, and the RBTC workbook. Email Training@NACCchildlaw.org for group registration. All sessions will be recorded and available for later viewing at the attendee’s convenience.   Hardcopies of the Red Book are available for purchase. A hardcopy Red Book is included in the Child Welfare Law Specialist application fee. \nBecome a Member of NACC for discount pricing.  \nCLE\n2025 Spring RBTC CLE Info

SUMMARY:Leveraging Technology to Improve Client Engagement & Legal Representation in Child Welfare Cases
DESCRIPTION:In this NACC member webinar\, Gwendolyn Clegg from Oklahoma’s Office of Family Representation and Ryan O’Donnell\, CEO & Co-Founder of Your Case Plan\, will discuss how technology is reshaping client engagement and legal representation in child welfare cases. The session will highlight the successful pilot of the “Your Case Plan” app in Oklahoma\, showcasing how it has improved family engagement\, provided timely updates\, and enhanced the quality of legal representation. Ryan will share his personal journey\, from being a pre-adoptive foster parent to a passionate advocate for reunification\, and how his foster son’s case inspired the creation of the app. \nParticipants will gain insight into how attorneys can use technology to improve client engagement and coordination between everyone involved in a child welfare case. Ryan will recount the compelling story of his foster son’s nearly seven-year journey in foster care\, despite his father never being accused of abuse or neglect\, and how Your Case Plan helped bridge the communication gap between family members\, legal representatives\, and the court system. Attendees will also learn how to recognize common challenges and biases that can delay reunification and explore how technology can foster collaboration and ensure more accurate\, real-time information in child welfare cases.  \nPresenters:\nGwendolyn Clegg\, JD – Executive Director\, Oklahoma Office of Family Representation  \nGwendolyn L. Clegg has dedicated the past twenty-three years of her legal career to representing parents\, children\, and families involved in Oklahoma’s juvenile deprived court system.
